Some shipments are measured not in kilometres, but in hours.
Loadstar was asked to arrange the urgent transportation of sports equipment from Poland to Lviv, Ukraine. The entire process - collection, customs clearance and delivery - had to be completed within just 2 days.
The shipment consisted of only four pallets. While this volume could normally be transported as groupage cargo, there simply wasn’t enough time. Consolidation would have required waiting for additional freight, extra handling and unloading, and increased the risk of delays at the border.
Instead, we assigned a dedicated vehicle with a payload of up to 2 tonnes. This type of transport is faster, more flexible and crosses the border through the lane designated for light commercial vehicles, avoiding the long queues typically faced by heavy trucks.
The decision proved to be the right one.
The shipment arrived in Lviv on schedule. The pallets were immediately unloaded, broken down and transferred directly onto the volleyball team’s coach before the team departed for an international tournament.
In this case, even a few hours’ delay could have meant the team travelling without the equipment they needed to compete.
Projects like this demonstrate that logistics is about much more than moving cargo. It is about understanding the customer’s priorities, choosing the right transport solution and delivering when every hour matters.
