The Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine (AMEU) has addressed the Prime Minister and relevant ministries, urging them to revise the criteria for recognizing businesses as critical to the economy. The reason behind this appeal is new regulatory acts that effectively prevent freight forwarding companies from obtaining critical status.
According to AMEU’s position, without freight forwarding companies, Ukrainian ports will not be able to operate efficiently, which directly impacts the economy, foreign currency inflows, and international trade. Losing critical status means companies won’t be able to reserve key personnel, potentially leading to a complete halt in maritime transportation after February 28, 2025.
