As of November 1, 2024, a new requirement comes into effect for carriers transporting goods to and through Poland. All carriers from third countries, including Ukraine, must now register in Poland's digital SENT system. This update was announced by the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety (Ukrtransbezpeka) on their Facebook page.
Registration in the SENT system is now mandatory for all types of freight transport: single permits, ECMT permits, and even permit-free transports conducted under the Agreement on the Liberalization of Freight Transport. Essentially, this affects all foreign carriers operating on Polish territory.
During registration in SENT, carriers must provide detailed information, including company details, sender and receiver information, the place and date of commencement and completion of transportation within Poland, countries of loading and unloading, transport document numbers, permits, and more. Upon successful registration, a control number is assigned to the notification. If this control number is not received, the driver is prohibited from starting the transportation.
Ukrtransbezpeka emphasizes that registration in the SENT system aims to ensure control over all freight transport to and through Poland. The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure is currently developing detailed procedures for foreign carriers, which will be communicated to all interested parties in the near future.
For Ukrainian carriers, this means a need to quickly adapt to the new requirements to avoid delays and fines at the border. Considering the importance of timely cargo delivery and maintaining partnerships, promptly implementing these new procedures is critically important.
